Malaysia dominates men’s badminton with three top-ranked doubles pairs

According to Malaysian badminton legend Abdul Rashid Sidek, his country’s men’s badminton sector is experiencing its best momentum — marked by dominance in doubles events.

Three Malaysian men’s doubles pairs now command top world rankings:

  • Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin – rank 1
  • Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik – rank 2
  • Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun – rank 7

The pair of Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik stands out with three titles — including the Asian Championship, while the total titles achieved by these three pairs reach six trophies this year.

Under Indonesian coach Herry Iman Pierngadi’s guidance, Malaysia’s men’s doubles sector has grown stronger — evidenced by four titles secured by pairs Chia/Soh and Man/Tee.

The men’s singles sector also demonstrates impressive achievements through Lee Zii Jia and Leong Jun Hao who frequently defeat seeded players.
