Malaysia calls up three senior players for ASEAN Cup U-23 clash with Indonesia

Preparing for ASEAN Cup U-23 2025, Malaysia U-23 coach Nafuzi Zain has strengthened his team by calling up three senior players — a strategic move to face competition in Group A containing Indonesia.

The tournament, set to take place at two venues — Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium Jakarta and Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium Bekasi — is scheduled to begin in mid-July.

Three experienced senior national team players called up:

• Ubaidullah Syamsul Fazili
• Fergus Tierney
• Haqimi Azim Rosli

The Young Tigers have started their training camp yesterday with a total of 30 players called up. Malaysia is drawn in Group A alongside Indonesia, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam — a challenge being taken seriously by the coaching staff.
