Major crisis at Malut United – 22 players released before Liga 1

Malut United faces a major crisis ahead of Liga 1 2025/26 — the club has released 22 players from their squad at once.

The team nicknamed Laskar Kie Raha just completed an impressive season finishing third in Liga 1 2024/25 — an achievement that qualified them for the ASEAN Club Championship.

Last season, as a promoted club, Malut United performed surprisingly well with a high-quality squad strengthened by Indonesian national team players like Wahyu Prasetyo, Yakob Sayuri, and Yance Sayuri.

The club’s situation has worsened following the dismissal of coach Imran Nahumarury due to serious disciplinary violations — no replacement has yet been appointed to fill the head coach position.
