Mahrez Disagrees with Ronaldo on Saudi League vs Ligue 1

Al-Ahli winger Riyad Mahrez has voiced his disagreement with Cristiano Ronaldo’s claim that the Saudi Pro League is better than France’s Ligue 1.

The controversial statement was made by Ronaldo about a year and a half ago during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where the Al Nassr star boldly claimed that Saudi Arabia’s league is more competitive than Ligue 1.

“The Saudi League is clearly better than the French League,” Ronaldo said. “Ligue 1 only has one or two strong teams, while our league is more competitive.”

However, Mahrez, who currently plays for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, expressed a different view and does not agree with Ronaldo’s assessment.
