Catarina Macario Ready for Wembley Debut in Women’s FA Cup Final

Catarina Macario is poised to make her long-awaited Wembley Stadium debut as Chelsea prepare to face Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup final. This marks a major career milestone for the 25-year-old, who has never played at the iconic venue due to an ACL injury that sidelined her for nearly two years.

“Playing at Wembley is something that every player dreams about. The FA Cup final makes it that much more special,” said Macario.

Road to Recovery and Return to Form

After recovering from her long injury layoff, Macario returned to action in March and has since scored six goals in 18 league appearances. While this tally is modest compared to her 29 goals in 46 games at Lyon, she remains committed to regaining peak form.

“I am very grateful to Chelsea for having taken me when I was injured. I feel like I owe it to them to be better,” she added.

Chelsea are no strangers to Wembley success, having won the Women’s FA Cup five times since the final was moved to the venue in 2014-15.
