Lundgaard Claims Three Consecutive Podiums With McLaren In 2025 IndyCar Season

Lundgaard’s Hot Start With Arrow McLaren

Christian Lundgaard has shown impressive consistency at the beginning of the 2025 IndyCar season, securing three consecutive podium finishes with his new team, Arrow McLaren, after opening the season with an eighth-place result at St. Petersburg.

Strong Recovery at Barber Motorsports Park

Despite struggling with car balance during practice and starting from seventh position, the Danish driver delivered a spectacular performance at Barber Motorsports Park, completing 16 overtakes across the 90-lap race to claim a strong second-place finish.

“We made a small change this morning during warm-up and the result was completely different. This might be one of the biggest changes I’ve ever experienced with the car,” said Lundgaard.

Switch to McLaren Yields Major Improvement

After moving from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Lundgaard has significantly improved his average finishing position — rising from 12.2 last season to just 4.7 this year.

“The car is purely faster than what I’ve been driving for the last three years. I’m very happy with what we’ve achieved — three podiums in the first four races,” he added.

Eyes Set on Championship Battle

While he trails championship leader Alex Palou by 60 points heading into the next race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Lundgaard remains determined to push McLaren’s performance even further.
