Luka Modric Turns Down Swansea Move Despite Ownership

According to Wales Online, Luka Modric has rejected the possibility of joining Swansea City — a Championship club in which he owns a minority stake.

The 39-year-old midfielder will leave Real Madrid after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, closing a glittering chapter with Los Blancos that includes four UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga trophies, and the 2018 Ballon d’Or.

Despite being a minor shareholder in Swansea City, Modric has no interest in playing for the club — which currently features Nathan Tjoe-A-On, a player from the Indonesia national football team.

The Croatian international still aims to compete at the highest level, dismissing speculation of a move to the Championship or MLS.
