Luis Díaz absent from Liverpool match amid transfer speculation

According to ESPN, Luis Díaz was absent in Liverpool’s 4-2 defeat against AC Milan in Hong Kong — a decision linked to speculation about his potential move to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot acknowledged the rumors surrounding the Colombian player’s future. “There are many rumors around him lately and I cannot go into that. He’s training really well with us but we’ve decided for now not to play him yet,” Slot stated.

“I’m used to talking to most of my players on a regular basis. Like I said, Lucho is training really well and we’ve decided that he’s not playing at the moment in the games,” Slot added.

Bayern Munich previously submitted a €67.5 million bid that Liverpool rejected. Díaz — who scored 17 goals last season — is reportedly determined to leave Anfield during this summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Darwin Núñez and Wataru Endo also missed the match due to fitness concerns. Liverpool will continue their preseason tour against Yokohama F. Marinos.
