After three months of hearings that concluded in December 2024, Manchester City now awaits the verdict on 115 charges related to breaches of Premier League financial regulations.

The charges span from 2009 to 2023 — including allegations of inaccurate financial reporting, misrepresentation of sponsorship revenue, undisclosed related-party transactions, and violations of operating cost regulations. The case originated from the “Football Leaks” documents, which surfaced several years ago.

Pep GuardiolaManchester City’s manager — expects the verdict to be announced by the end of March 2025. A three-person independent arbitration panel considers the various evidence presented during the hearings.

If found guilty, the citizens will face various potential sanctions, ranging from fines, points deductions, transfer bans, and possible expulsion from the Premier League. Several clubs have also filed paperwork to claim compensation for potential losses they incurred.

The upcoming verdict won’t be the end of this legal process — the losing side will likely file an appeal, which could take six to eight months for the next hearing process.
