Liverpool Target Newcastle United Striker Alexander Isak

According to ESPN, Liverpool have made an approach to Newcastle United regarding the availability of striker Alexander Isak in this summer’s transfer window.

The Reds are searching for a new forward — this situation emerges amid uncertainty over Darwin Núñez’s future with Napoli showing interest. Liverpool have also just rejected a €67.5 million offer from Bayern Munich for Luis Díaz.

Newcastle United have taken a firm stance against selling the Swedish international — Isak has scored 62 goals in 102 appearances for The Magpies. Liverpool have not yet submitted a formal offer for their target striker.

Liverpool previously broke their transfer record by signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could reach £116 million. Meanwhile, Newcastle are pursuing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike to partner with Isak in attack.
