Liverpool Signs Left-Back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth

Liverpool has announced the arrival of left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth — bringing the club’s summer spending to £170 million.

The 21-year-old Hungary international joins on a five-year contract after Liverpool agreed to a £40 million transfer fee with Bournemouth.

Kerkez becomes Liverpool’s third major signing this summer following the arrivals of Frimpong and German midfielder Florian Wirtz — who joined for a club-record fee of £116 million.

Liverpool’s transfer activity this season stands in stark contrast to last summer when they only brought in two players — Federico Chiesa (£12 million) and Giorgi Mamardashvili (£30 million) who was loaned back to Valencia.

Last season with Bournemouth, Kerkez impressed with two goals and six assists — helping the team finish in the top half of the Premier League for the first time.

The player who has earned 23 caps with the Hungarian national team will compete with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas for the left-back position at Liverpool.
