Liverpool sign goalkeeper Freddie Woodman from Preston North End

Premier League champions Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Freddie Woodman — who will join after his contract expires at Preston North End later this month.

The 28-year-old Woodman will serve as third choice behind first-choice keeper Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili — who arrived from Valencia last season as manager Arne Slot’s first signing.

The former Newcastle United goalkeeper impressed during his three years at Preston with 138 appearances — even earning Player of the Year honors two seasons ago. Woodman also has international experience with six caps for England U-21s.
