According to ESPN, Liverpool is experiencing a difficult period as the Premier League season draws to a close — suffering a 3-2 defeat to Fulham that marks their third loss in four matches across all competitions.

Although Arsenal only managed a 1-1 draw against Everton, the loss at Craven Cottage serves as a reminder that Arne Slot’s team still has work to do — despite holding an 11-point lead at the top with seven games remaining.

“I think there is no reason for us to be complacent,” said Slot in his press conference. “We are not No. 1 at the moment because we win every game with a margin of three or four goals.”

Several issues currently facing Liverpool:

  • Mental and physical fatigue among players
  • Mohamed Salah goalless in last four matches
  • Ryan Gravenberch experiencing excessive workload
  • Costly individual errors

Liverpool also needs to strengthen their squad next season with several transfer targets including Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez and Ajax young defender Jorrel Hato. The attack also requires refreshing given Darwin Nunez’s inconsistency this season.

The team’s main focus now is returning to winning ways when hosting West Ham United this weekend — to ensure the league title doesn’t slip away at season’s end.
