Liverpool Close to Signing Frimpong and Kerkez

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are on the verge of completing deals for two full-backs — Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

The Frimpong deal has reached its final stages, with Romano giving his signature “here we go” confirmation last week. The Reds are reportedly set to activate the £29.5 million release clause for the 24-year-old defender.

Frimpong has a unique connection to Indonesian football — he previously played alongside Mees Hilgers, a current Indonesia national football team defender, in the Netherlands U-21 squad a few years ago. Now, Frimpong has made 12 appearances for the Netherlands national football team, while Hilgers has opted to represent Indonesia.
