Liverpool Break Premier League Transfer Record with Florian Wirtz Signing

Florian Wirtz has officially joined Liverpool after the Merseyside club announced their transfer agreement with Bayer Leverkusen — the deal is worth 116 million pounds.

The announcement was made by Liverpool on Friday (20/6) with payment details split into two parts — a base fee of 100 million pounds and additional bonuses worth 16 million pounds.

This transfer will break the Premier League’s record signing previously held by:

• Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea (107 million pounds)
• Moises Caicedo to Chelsea (115 million pounds including bonuses)

According to BBC, Wirtz’s record transfer status will only be officially recorded after the German player meets the bonus requirements agreed by both clubs.
