Liverpool Agrees Record-Breaking Transfer Fee for Florian Wirtz

According to ESPN, Liverpool has reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Florian Wirtz — the 22-year-old attacking midfielder who has been targeted by Europe’s elite clubs.

The transfer deal includes an initial payment of £100 million with bonuses up to £16 million — a figure that could potentially break the British transfer record currently held by Moises Caicedo.

The Reds managed to secure Wirtz’s signature after competing with several major clubs — Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Real Madrid were all pursuing the player who ranks second in ESPN’s 100 best attacking midfielders list.

This transfer will break Liverpool’s club record previously held by Darwin Núñez at £85 million. Wirtz will become Liverpool’s second summer signing following the arrival of his Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong.
