Liga 1 next season allows clubs to register 11 foreign players

President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus announces significant changes regarding foreign player quota for Liga 1 2025/2026 season — clubs are allowed to register up to 11 foreign players.

This decision was made after the General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS) held at Hotel Langham, Central Jakarta — from 11 registered players, only eight are allowed to play in matches.

This new policy marks an increase from the previous season, where Liga 1 2024/2025 clubs were only allowed to register eight foreign players — with a limit of six players who could play in matches.

“So next season clubs can register maximum 11 foreign players. From those 11 names, only eight foreign players can play. For DSP, it remains eight foreign players only,” explained Ferry Paulus.
