Liga 1 2025/2026 schedule delayed, Mauricio Souza reveals new kick-off date

According to Bolasport.com, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has not yet announced the official Liga 1 2025/2026 schedule for 18 participating clubs — however new information has emerged from Persija Jakarta camp.

Persija Jakarta coach, Mauricio Souza, revealed that the competition will start on August 8, 2025 — pushed back from the initial August 1 plan that previously circulated on social media.

“If I’m not mistaken, perhaps you journalists know that the competition starts on August 8, 2025,” said Mauricio Souza.

Responding to this schedule, the Macan Kemayoran team has already started their initial training yesterday — a preparation period of about five weeks that the Brazilian coach deems sufficient, although pre-season program details haven’t been announced.
