According to Onefc.com, English Muay Thai fighter Liam Nolan — who previously announced his retirement earlier this year — is ready to return to the ONE Championship ring.

The lightweight Muay Thai bout will pit Nolan against Nauzet Trujillo at ONE Fight Night 31: Kongthoranee vs. Nong-O II at Lumpinee Stadium, Bangkok — scheduled to take place on May 4.

This fight represents a chance for redemption for the 27-year-old fighter — who previously suffered a defeat to Trujillo by judges’ decision about 14 months ago.

“That decision didn’t just happen. I decided I needed to focus on life,” said Nolan. “ONE was great but after a few months, I spoke with family and told them I needed to take a break.”

Despite announcing his retirement three months ago, Nolan’s fighting spirit was reignited after receiving a call from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO, Chatri Sityodtong — who had a lengthy conversation with him the day after ONE 170.
