Indonesian men’s doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana have recorded remarkable achievements — in just eight months since being paired after the Paris Olympics, they have climbed to world ranking number 9.

This new partnership has yielded several outstanding results — winning Korea Open 2024, finishing as runners-up at All England 2025, and securing bronze at the Asian Championships 2025.

“Alhamdulillah, we could reach the Asian Championships semifinals. It wasn’t easy to achieve this stage,” stated Bagas at the national training center in Cipayung, Jakarta.

“We’ve improved quite well, but we must not be complacent. We shouldn’t be overconfident and need to stay humble while taking matches step by step,” added Bagas.

Unfortunately, Leo encountered knee injury issues during the Asian Championships semifinals against Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi from China.

“I had it checked yesterday, the results should be ready today, but I haven’t seen them yet. Hopefully nothing serious, though I didn’t dare to train fully today as I’m waiting for the test results, focusing more on recovery,” explained Leo.
