Prediksi Leicester vs Ipswich di Liga Primer Inggris (18.05.2025)

On Sunday, May 18 at 21:00 WIB, at the King Power Stadium in Leicester, the local football club will host Ipswich Town in the penultimate Round 37 match of the 2024–2025 English Premier League season. This match features two of this season’s biggest underperformers, both having the same number of points and already officially relegated to the Championship. It is unlikely we’ll witness an intense battle for the 18th spot in the league table.

In the Leicester vs Ipswich matchup, bookmakers do not see a clear favorite, giving a slight edge to the home side due to the home-field factor. A bet on the Foxes’ win is offered at odds of 2.43, a draw at 3.60, and an Ipswich win at 2.88. Over 2.5 total goals is priced at 1.77, indicating an expected medium scoring outcome. Bets on both teams to score are offered at 1.63.

Leicester

When Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed head coach last December, it’s unlikely that the club’s management or fans anticipated a series of extended losing streaks. In their last 13 Premier League matches, the Foxes have only managed one win, and that was against fellow strugglers Southampton at home, 2–0.

Despite having several quality players in their squad, Leicester City have only won five (!) matches throughout the season. At home, they average just 0.72 goals per game. It appears that the strike partnership of Jamie Vardy and Jordan Ayew may be too old and uncompetitive for the top tier of English football.

Ipswich

Kieran McKenna managed to keep his team in the Premier League for only one season. It’s difficult to expect much when the team has only won one match in their last 17 fixtures. Overall, Ipswich have celebrated victory just four times this season, clearly highlighting how outmatched their squad was in the top flight.

There were high hopes for young striker Liam Delap, but the England U21 international failed to carry the goal-scoring burden on his own. Overall team cohesion at Ipswich has been poor, and fans can only hope for a successful campaign in the Championship next season.

Stats and Head-to-Head Meetings

Since 2023, these two teams have met three times, and all matches ended with the same score: 1–1. Last season, they claimed the Championship gold and silver medals with very similar statistics. This season, their stats have remained similarly close—except that both clubs find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Prediction

In this battle between two bottom-table teams, it’s hard to ignore the recurring head-to-head trend. Why not predict a fourth consecutive 1–1 draw? The forecast is a correct score of 1–1, offered at odds of 7.10.
