Leicester City parts ways with Van Nistelrooy after relegation

Leicester City has officially announced the end of their cooperation with manager Ruud van Nistelrooy — a decision taken two months after the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

A challenging season for Leicester City concluded with only six victories — a situation that forced the club to dismiss Steve Cooper last November and replace him with Van Nistelrooy.

“I would like to thank the Leicester City players, coaches, academy and all the staff I have worked with for their professionalism. I also thank the supporters for their support and wish the best for the club in the future,” said Van Nistelrooy.

Leicester City will begin their new adventure in the Championship with a home fixture against Sheffield Wednesday in mid-August.
