Legacy Motor Club Responds to Daniel Suarez Arrival Rumors

According to media conference statements, Jimmie Johnson — co-owner of Legacy Motor Club — discussed the possibility of Daniel Suarez joining his team for the 2026 season. Suarez will depart Trackhouse Racing after five seasons with the team.

Legacy Motor Club currently — operates two full-time cars with John Hunter Nemechek in the No. 42 car and Erik Jones in No. 43, while Johnson himself competes part-time in the No. 84 car.

“Danny is a great friend and somebody I stay in touch with,” Johnson stated. “He’s a great talent, very popular, can perform on any track, and has great sponsorship interest — a well-rounded modern-day NASCAR athlete.”

The team is working to secure a third charter but is involved in litigation with Rick Ware Racing regarding a charter purchase attempt. Johnson admitted — while interested in Suarez, timing and seat availability remain major obstacles.
