Leeds United and Burnley have officially secured promotion to the Premier League next season after locking in the top two spots in the 2024–2025 Championship standings.

Leeds United reached 94 points following a dominant 6-0 win over Stoke City. Meanwhile, Burnley‘s home victory at Turf Moor dashed Sheffield United’s hopes of closing the gap, confirming the Clarets’ return to England’s top flight.

Although both teams have sealed promotion, the Championship title race is still alive, with two matches remaining for each:

  • Leeds United: vs Bristol City (home) and vs Plymouth Argyle (away)
  • Burnley: vs Queens Park Rangers (away) and vs Millwall (home)

Sheffield United — who suffered three consecutive defeats in early April — must settle for a playoff spot alongside Sunderland and two other teams to compete for the final promotion ticket.

Burnley, relegated just last season, have earned their Premier League return through solid defensive displays. Leeds dropped down in 2023 and missed promotion last year after losing to Southampton in the Wembley playoff final.
