Malaysian singles player Lee Zii Jia — who previously applied for a protected ranking to BWF — shares encouraging news about his injury condition through an online interview with CGTN Sport Scene.

The Asian Champion revealed that his recovery process is progressing well — contrary to fans’ concerns about a possible absence exceeding six months.

“I hope to return at the US Open 2025, which is a Super 300 tournament,” said Lee Zii Jia. “However, only when my condition is 100 percent recovered.”

Lee‘s earlier protected ranking application had sparked speculation — as such measures are typically taken by players experiencing serious injuries or special conditions requiring extended recovery periods.
