Leclerc Dominates Monaco GP First Practice, Verstappen Close Behind

Charles Leclerc kicked off his home Grand Prix weekend in dominant fashion, topping the first free practice session (FP1) of the Monaco Grand Prix with a lap time of 1m11.964s.

The Ferrari driver held off a late push from reigning world champion Max Verstappen, who finished second in a tight battle on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Red Flag after Collision with Stroll at the Hairpin

The session was temporarily halted due to a red flag, triggered by a collision between Leclerc and Lance Stroll at the hairpin. Stroll’s Aston Martin was moving slowly on the racing line when Leclerc’s Ferrari approached at high speed, resulting in contact.

Despite the setback, Leclerc continued with no major damage and regained momentum after the session resumed.

Strong Showings from Norris and Albon

Following the restart, the battle for top spots heated up. Lando Norris placed third with an impressive run in the McLaren, while Alex Albon stunned the paddock by taking fourth for Williams.

Mercedes also showed promise, with George Russell and Lewis Hamilton both placing in the top 10.
