Leclerc to Miss Canadian GP FP2 After First Session Crash

Leclerc to Miss Canadian GP FP2 After First Session Crash

Charles Leclerc will miss the second practice session of the Canadian GP following a crash that damaged his car’s chassis in FP1. The Ferrari driver lost control at Turn 3 while leading the session — his car slid onto the grass and hit the barrier.

Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur revealed that chassis damage requires replacement of major components on the SF-25. Technical regulations prevent repairs from being completed in time for FP2.

“We suspect chassis damage and by regulation cannot participate in FP2,” Vasseur explained. “We need to conduct further checks, but it seems Charles is done for today.”

The slippery track conditions also challenged other drivers:

  • Lewis Hamilton completed a full spin at the hairpin
  • George Russell slid onto the grass
  • Lando Norris also went off track due to oversteer

Max Verstappen set the fastest time in FP1, followed by Williams duo Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz in second and third positions.
