Leclerc Struggles at British GP, Future at Ferrari Questioned

Charles Leclerc endured a disappointing weekend at Silverstone Circuit — the Ferrari driver only managed to finish 14th at the British GP.

The 27-year-old showed major frustration through team radio, expressing his disappointment with a series of expletives after his poor qualifying performance.

“How is it possible I’m losing time in turns 1 and 2? I’m already flat out there!” said Leclerc during the race.

His teammate Lewis Hamilton showed better performance — the British driver successfully adapted to the car’s characteristics with an unstable rear end, as revealed by Ferrari deputy team principal Jerome d’Ambrosio.

Leclerc’s Formula 1 statistics currently show:

  • 8 Grand Prix victories
  • Second place in 2022 championship
  • Third place in 2024 championship
  • Fifth position in 2025 standings with 119 points

Comparisons to Ferrari legend Jean Alesi have emerged — a talented driver who never maximized his potential with the red team. However, Leclerc still has time to prove he deserves to be mentioned alongside top drivers like Max Verstappen.
