Leclerc Leads Final British GP Practice Session Marked by Red Flags

Charles Leclerc led the final British GP practice session marked by two red flags. The Ferrari driver set the best time of 1 minute 25.498 seconds — marginally ahead of his rivals.

Fierce competition emerged at the front — the top four drivers separated by just 0.108 seconds. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris claimed second and third positions, while Max Verstappen settled for fourth.

The session was disrupted by two incidents in the closing minutes. The first red flag was shown due to debris from Oliver Bearman’s car. Shortly after, Gabriel Bortoleto lost control at Maggotts-Becketts corners — his car ending up in the gravel trap with broken suspension.

The session started quietly with Alpine dominating the track. Lewis Hamilton briefly led with a time of 1 minute 26.529 seconds, before Leclerc took over the top spot — demonstrating Ferrari’s promising pace ahead of qualifying.

Red Bull with their low downforce setup showed strength in the first sector and straights, but struggled maintaining speed through fast corners. Meanwhile, Hamilton’s final attempt to join the pole position battle was thwarted by the first red flag.
