Lautaro Martinez harshly criticizes Inter Milan’s Club World Cup performance

Lautaro Martinez expressed his disappointment after Inter Milan’s exit from the Club World Cup — losing 2-0 to Fluminense in the round of 16.

The Inter Milan captain delivered a stern message to his teammates:

“I want to fight for major titles. Whoever wants to stay at Inter, fine, let’s fight together. But whoever doesn’t want to stay can leave. We need players who truly want to be here.”

The team’s performance in this tournament was far from satisfactory — only securing a 2-0 victory against River Plate in the group stage, drawing 1-1 with Monterrey, and narrowly beating Urawa Red Diamonds.

This season has become increasingly disappointing for Inter Milan after failing to secure domestic titles and suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.

“This is a message for everyone. To compete for titles, we must have fighting spirit. As captain, I apologize to the fans who came from far away to support us,” added the Argentine striker.
