The Indonesia U-17 national team ended their Group C campaign in the 2025 AFC U-17 Asian Cup with a dramatic 2-0 win against Afghanistan U-17 on Friday (April 11) at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium, Jeddah. Late goals from Alfredo Hengga and Zahaby Gholy sealed all three points for Garuda Muda, who completed the group stage with a perfect record.

Head coach Nova Arianto made seven changes to the starting lineup following their confirmed qualification to the quarter-finals and the U-17 World Cup. New starters included Dafa Zaidan, Putu Ekayana, Ida Bagus Pramana, Fandi Ahmad, Ilham Romadhona, Rafi Rasyiq, and Josh Holong, who joined four retained starters.

Despite struggling to score for most of the match, Indonesia controlled possession and defended well. They finally broke the deadlock in injury time through Hengga and Gholy.

Indonesia finishes the group stage with:

  • 9 points from 3 matches
  • 7 goals scored
  • Only 1 goal conceded
  • Secured spot in quarter-finals and U-17 World Cup
