Las Vegas Aces bounce back with convincing win over Connecticut Sun

The Las Vegas Aces demonstrated an impressive recovery by defeating the Connecticut Sun 86-68 in a WNBA game in Uncasville.

A’ja Wilson — who scored 19 points in this game — emphasized the importance of team defense following their disappointing loss to Indiana Fever a few days ago.

“We got embarrassed against Indiana. We understood that we didn’t want to go down that road anymore. We found our joy in the game, particularly on the defensive end,” Wilson stated.

Coach Becky Hammon appreciated her team’s improved performance — especially in defensive aspects that limited the Sun to just 38.1% shooting percentage.

Las Vegas, now holding a 9-9 record, is adapting to several new players including NaLyssa Smith — who recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in her first start.

The 2022 and 2023 WNBA champions face a tough challenge against New York Liberty — a team that has beaten them in seven of their last eight meetings since early 2024.
