Lanny/Fadia Eliminated at Malaysia Masters 2025 Quarterfinals

Indonesian Duo Falls to Olympic Champions in Axiata Arena Clash

The journey of Lanny Tria Mayasari and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti in the Malaysia Masters 2025 came to an end after a tough quarterfinal defeat to Chinese pair Jia Yi Fan/Zhang Shu Xian.

Competing at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, the Indonesian women’s doubles put up a valiant effort but had to concede with a scoreline of 15-21, 21-15, 14-21 against the reigning Paris 2024 Olympic champions.

Tight Three-Game Battle Ends in Disappointment for Indonesia

The match, lasting 66 minutes, started with intense rallies and tight exchanges. Both pairs exchanged points three times in the early stages of the opening game. However, the Chinese pair — currently ranked 15th in the world — found their rhythm and pulled ahead, leading 11-6 at the mid-game interval.

Despite a spirited comeback by Lanny/Fadia in the second game, where they reversed the score to win 21-15, they struggled to maintain momentum in the deciding game. Jia/Zhang’s attacking dominance and tactical composure proved decisive in the closing stages.

This result marks the end of Indonesia’s women’s doubles campaign at the Super 500 event, while the Chinese pair continues their march into the semifinals.
