Lanny/Fadia advance to Japan Open round of 16 after defeating Australian pair

Starting their campaign at Japan Open 2025, Indonesian women’s doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti successfully advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Australian representatives.

Playing at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Lanny/Fadia — who showed dominance from the start — overcame Gronya Somerville/Angela Yu with decisive scores of 21-7, 21-13.

“We had prepared our game plan although on paper we were favored, but we didn’t want to underestimate,” stated Fadia after the match.

“In the first game, we had many rallies because we were still testing the court and the shuttle was quite slow,” added Fadia.

“In the first game, we tried to play more defensively which resulted in many rallies,” explained Lanny about their game strategy.
