Lanny/Fadia advance smoothly to second round of Japan Open 2025

Lanny Tria Mayasari and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti — Indonesia’s world number 20 women’s doubles pair — started Japan Open 2025 with a convincing victory.

Playing at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, the Indonesian pair defeated Gronya Somerville/Angela Yu from Australia with a decisive score of 21-7, 21-13 in 29 minutes.

Lanny/Fadia showed dominance from the start — collecting two consecutive points and continuously widening the gap. Although the Australian representatives showed brief resistance, the Indonesian pair secured an 11-4 interval lead.

After the break, the Indonesian pair continued their offensive — giving no chance for Somerville/Yu to recover. This victory ensures Lanny/Fadia’s advancement to the second round of the BWF Super 750 tournament.
