Lando Norris Leads Final Canadian GP Practice, Piastri Hits Wall

Lando Norris clocked the fastest time of 1m11.799s in the final practice session of Canadian GP — showing significant improvement after McLaren’s poor Friday performance.

Charles Leclerc secured second position, followed by George Russell in third and Lewis Hamilton in fourth with his Ferrari.

While Norris’s performance improved, his teammate Oscar Piastri had an incident at the final corner hitting the ‘wall of champions’ — resulting in a right rear puncture and triggering a red flag. The Australian driver could only finish eighth, seven tenths behind his teammate.

  • Max Verstappen finished fifth
  • Fernando Alonso was the only driver to get within half a second of Norris’s time
  • Andrea Kimi Antonelli in seventh
  • Williams duo Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon completed the top 10

All drivers set their best times using C6 tires — Pirelli’s softest compound for the Montreal circuit. Isack Hadjar had a late spin but managed to finish 11th, while Yuki Tsunoda ended the session last and is under investigation for a red flag infringement.
