Lando Norris Claims Austrian GP Pole with Dominant Performance

Lando Norris delivered an outstanding performance in Formula 1 Austrian GP qualifying at Red Bull Ring, Spielberg. The McLaren driver secured pole position with an impressive time of 1 minute 03.971 seconds — a pace his rivals struggled to match.

Despite missing the first free practice session, Norris demonstrated complete dominance by leading all subsequent sessions. His remarkable performance resulted in the largest qualifying gap of the season.

Charles Leclerc from Ferrari managed to split the McLaren duo by claiming second position. Meanwhile, championship leader Oscar Piastri will start from third grid after his final lap was compromised by an incident.

A similar fate befell Max Verstappen — the defending champion who must settle for seventh after yellow flags in the closing moments due to Pierre Gasly’s spin. This result ends Verstappen’s streak of starting from pole in the previous four Austrian GPs.
