Lance Stroll shows gloomy demeanor at Canadian GP press conference

Lance Stroll displayed unusual behavior at the Canadian Grand Prix press conference — the home driver appeared downcast despite being declared fit to race.

The Aston Martin driver gave brief answers when questioned about his medical procedure. “It’s just the old injury that started bothering me again — it’s been sorted now,” he stated regarding the wrist issue that caused him to miss the Spanish GP last month.

“I was frustrated. My wrist was inhibiting my driving in the last three races. I knew Sunday would be difficult, probably impossible, and at that point I was very frustrated about it.”

When asked about his first visit to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Stroll merely responded “a long time ago” — a surprising response considering this is his home race.

Aston Martin team boss Andy Cowell also remained silent about Stroll’s medical procedure — an injury stemming from a cycling accident during the 2023 preseason.
