Lance Stroll responds to criticism about his position at Aston Martin F1

Lance Stroll has responded to criticism suggesting Aston Martin should replace him — the Canadian driver hasn’t scored points since the Miami sprint race.

The season started promisingly for Stroll with eight points in Australia and two points at the Chinese Grand Prix, but his performance declined afterward. A recurring wrist injury even forced him to miss the Spanish Grand Prix.

Former F1 driver Timo Glock criticized through Sky Deutschland:

“From a sporting perspective, he’s clearly not at the level he should be after his long time in Formula 1. He has suffered clear defeats and hasn’t been able to show consistency this year.”

Responding to the criticism, Stroll explained:

“Formula 1 is a business with very short-minded opinions. If you have two good races, you’re the best driver in the world. If you have two bad ones, you’re not good enough and shouldn’t be here anymore.”

The 26-year-old driver chooses a relaxed approach — he focuses on his small team circle and things he can control, including communication with engineers and detailed analysis of each race.
