Lamine Yamal meets his idol Neymar during Brazil vacation

Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal is using his vacation time to meet his childhood idol Neymar in Brazil. The pair were spotted spending time together in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Social media has been filled with their shared moments — playing footvolley, riding golf buggies, and relaxing by the swimming pool. Neymar even shared a video with Yamal which the 17-year-old player commented with “My brother.”

This meeting holds special meaning for Yamal who has idolized Neymar since childhood.

“I was seven when I first saw him play at Camp Nou and it was incredible. Yes, Messi was there and he was amazing too, but Neymar was totally different. He has always been my idol,” Yamal stated in a previous interview.

Both players have free time due to competition breaks — Barcelona failed to qualify for the Club World Cup, while the Brazilian league is also on pause. Yamal himself just completed a brilliant season with Barcelona, securing La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles.
