LaLiga president accused of blocking Nico Williams’ transfer to Barcelona

CENAFE (National Football Coaches Center) President Miguel Galan has revealed LaLiga President Javier Tebas’s involvement in Nico Williams’s failed transfer to Barcelona, as reported through his posts on social media X.

Barcelona had targeted Williams as their primary recruit for the upcoming summer transfer window — however, these efforts proved futile when the Athletic Bilbao winger chose to remain with his club.

The transfer situation became more surprising when Williams — who was previously reported to have agreed to join Camp Nou — instead signed a 10-year contract extension with Athletic Bilbao.

“Tebas has interfered in this transfer process and influenced Williams’ final decision,” Galan wrote in his post.
