LaLiga reveals that Barcelona never had the financial capacity to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor — a statement emerging ahead of the Spanish Sports Council’s (CSD) decision regarding both players’ status.

The league questions the €100 million transaction related to VIP seat sales at the renovating Spotify Camp Nou — a deal that wasn’t recorded in Barcelona’s financial reports for the 2024-25 season.

LaLiga has reduced the club’s spending limit that previously reached €463 million in February. Meanwhile, the league has also reported the auditor handling the transaction to the Spanish Institute of Audit and Accounting.

  • Dani Olmo has made 13 appearances with two goals and four assists
  • Pau Victor has only played five times as a substitute

The issue began when Barcelona missed the December 31 deadline to prove their compliance with LaLiga’s financial regulations. Both players were initially registered through the long-term injured player replacement rule for Andreas Christensen.

“The financial statements show Barcelona did not have the capacity to register Olmo and Victor on December 31, 2024, January 3, 2025, nor since that date,” stated LaLiga’s announcement.
