Kyle Larson is set to make his second attempt at completing two prestigious races in a single day — the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600.

Following last year’s setback due to a speed penalty at Indianapolis and rain issues at Charlotte, Larson will drive the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet at Charlotte and the No. 17 at Indianapolis — a collaboration between Hendrick and Arrow McLaren.

Both cars will feature HendrickCars.com’s signature blue with McLaren’s papaya orange accents. Amazon Prime Video has also joined as a major sponsor and will produce a documentary about this historic attempt.

This challenge has only been successfully completed by four drivers in history — a feat last achieved 11 years ago. The Indianapolis 500 itself is a historic race dating back to 1911, with 33 drivers competing on the 2.5-mile circuit, while the Coca-Cola 600 is known as NASCAR’s longest race, having been held since 1960.

If Larson completes all 1,100 miles, he will join an elite group of drivers who have successfully finished both events in a single day. His attempt also highlights the increasing crossover between IndyCar and NASCAR, drawing significant attention to both series.
