According to Forbes, Kyle Larson — the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion — has returned to Indianapolis Motor Speedway to prepare for the 109th Indianapolis 500.

The versatile driver — who once challenged four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen — admits that the Indy 500 could become his main focus after his NASCAR career ends.

“Maybe someday, when I’m not full-time Cup and I can really devote all my mind to Indy, I’d like to do it again,” Larson stated.

Returning to racing after his impressive debut last year, the Californian driver faces several technical challenges:

  • Adapting to the hybrid system
  • Different steering controls
  • Changed car balance

In his debut last year, Larson showed impressive performance by earning rookie of the year honors and finishing 18th after starting from fifth position.
