Team Spirit manager Dmitri “Korb3n” Belov recently shared his views on League of Legends and why he enjoys it so much, especially compared to its biggest rival, Dota 2. He pointed out clear differences between the casual and competitive aspect in both games.

During a Twitch stream, Korb3n praised LoL’s accessibility, noting its forgiving, enjoyable gameplay. He highlighted his experiences, how he was able to contribute to team fights despite repeated setbacks.

“League of Legends is funner than Dota 2. What I mean by this is that in League, you can die ten times and not care. You are not a midlaner? Not a problem. I can die ten times and still be useful in teamfights. I, for instance, cannot play mid in Dota. I simply can’t. In League, I go mid and often win. Even though I have zero mid experience in any game. If I go mid in Dota with 3K MMR, it’s going to be a 0:10 stomp”

However, he acknowledged competitive LoL is on a different level and professional play offers higher intensity. He stressed that high tier game demands a lot from players, especially with so many objectives to fight for.

“If all you want to do is log in and play, League is much more casual than Dota. But LoL isn’t easier if you want to play at a really high level. Just for casual play — sure. I also appreciate how many objectives there are. In LoL, there’s a lot — dragons, buffs, extra stuff. It’s great that there’s always something happening and fights breaking out”

Korb3n’s positive take starkly contrasts with his team’s ace Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk’s past criticism. The Team Spirit carry once dismissed LoL as nothing sort of garbage, likening its competitive depth to mobile games like MLBB.
