KONI Inaugurates New PB FOBI Chairman For 2025–2028 Period

The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) officially inaugurated the new board of the Indonesian Lion Dance Sports Federation (PB FOBI) at KONI’s headquarters in Senayan, Jakarta.

Marciano Norman, Chairman of KONI, formally appointed Edy Kusuma as the new Chairman of PB FOBI for the 2025–2028 term. The appointment is seen as a strategic step to further develop the lion dance sport in Indonesia.

Vision to Host the World Lion Dance Championship

Under the new leadership, PB FOBI is aiming high — proposing that Indonesia host the World Lion Dance Championship in Bali next year.

The move is expected to not only elevate the sport’s profile but also support the tourism sector.

“PB FOBI carries an important mission for the nation. I believe that under the leadership of Mr. Edy Kusuma, these grand plans will be implemented successfully,” stated Marciano Norman.

Strengthening Sport and Tourism

KONI hopes Indonesia will prove itself capable of being an ideal host — excelling both in event organization and sporting achievements — while also contributing to the growth of Bali’s tourism industry.
