Komang Sri Maryati reveals padel’s popularity remains high in Spain

Komang Sri Maryati, an Indonesian padel athlete currently residing in Spain, shares her insights about the popularity of padel sport in the country.

Padel — a combination of tennis and squash originating from Mexico — entered Indonesia last year and continues to grow with the emergence of new courts and fan communities.

Spain, along with Argentina, represents the strongest force in the padel world. Komang Sri Maryati, who is married to a Spanish citizen, provides a picture of local community enthusiasm.

“According to my husband, padel remains a highly popular sport, though tennis is too,” says the 36-year-old Bali-born athlete.
