Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi secured her first victory at the 2025 Asian Championships taking place at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium, China.

The Indonesian women’s singles player — facing Wong Ling Ching from Malaysia who ranks 103rd in the world — emerged victorious in a three-game match that lasted 60 minutes.

During the match, Komang Ayu initially held convincing leads — 9-7 and 12-8 — but lost momentum after the interval by dropping three consecutive points.

This victory carries additional significance as her opponent trains under Kenneth Jonassen — the coach who previously guided world-class shuttler Viktor Axelsen.
