Knee Injury Rules Nitish Kumar Reddy Out of England Tour

According to ESPNcricinfo, Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a knee ligament injury during a gym training session on Sunday — scans revealed significant ligament damage.

Reddy’s absence adds to India’s concerns ahead of the fourth Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test in Manchester — two fast bowlers, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, are also recovering from injuries.

Anshul Kamboj has been added to India’s squad as a seam-bowling replacement, while Jasprit Bumrah will only appear in three of five Tests due to workload management — he has played in the first and third Tests.

Reddy, who missed the opener in Leeds, had an impressive showing at Lord’s by taking crucial wickets of England openers — Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley. However, his performance declined in Birmingham with only two runs scored.

The Indian team still has the option to field Shardul Thakur as seam-bowling allrounder at Old Trafford, while Dhruv Jurel could serve as wicketkeeper if Rishabh Pant, who is recovering from a finger injury, needs to play as a specialist batter.
