Kluivert’s Former Student Leads Persib to Liga 1 Title

Gervane Kastaneer, a former student of Dutch football legend Patrick Kluivert, has played a crucial role in leading Persib Bandung to victory in the 2024–2025 BRI Liga 1 season.

The 28-year-old winger, who joined the club in January 2025, became one of the standout performers during the second half of the season, helping Persib overcome tough rivals and secure their long-awaited championship title.

Instagram Celebration Highlights Personal Milestone

Following the triumphant season, Kastaneer shared his joy through an emotional Instagram post, expressing gratitude to his loved ones and the supporters of Persib, known as “Bobotoh”.

“Champion, new country, different championship,” he wrote in the caption.
“Thank you so much for my biggest support: my family, I love you! Thank you Bobotoh, you are amazing,” he added.

This season marks Kastaneer’s first major league title and adds a significant achievement to his football journey, which previously included stints in the Netherlands, England, and Germany.

Kastaneer is widely known to have developed under the mentorship of Patrick Kluivert during his youth football years. That early influence has shaped his attacking style and professional attitude on the pitch.

Now, with a Liga 1 trophy in hand, Kastaneer proves that he is ready to be a leader — and possibly a long-term asset for Indonesian football.
